The Challenge: Write for 5 minutes without stopping
The Prompt: If you met me…
If you met me, you would discover that I am much more talkative when I am behind a keyboard.
In real life or IRL as they say – I am quite shy. Well, that is unless I turn on my “trained extrovert” button which enables me to survive the crowds for about 59 minutes straight – as an extrovert of course – before I go into automatic-shutdown (rather like the government these days)
IRL I have a hard time finding my words and spend a great deal of time fumbling through my cadence of word-like rhythms in my brain trying to find the right syllabic-amorphisms to put together.
Often I fail.
I fail at finding the right words, that is.
But give me a camera and I can capture the moment.
Give me a guitar and I can sing you a story.
Allow me to don my pointe shoes and I will paint you a scene.
Let me into a bare-stark room and I will create you a home.
Lend me your heart and I can caress it back into life again when you have been wounded.
Because in art is where I find my voice of encouragement, and in people’s discomfort that I can massage life where death once stood.
Chaos no longer frightens me, because I have learned to turn it into an artful expression of the magnificent.
So if you met me… this is what you would learn about me… but it would take awhile to see it.
