At the end of the I Am Beautiful project – Lexi (Jill’s daughter above) and I did a mini-shoot w/Jill.
Some of you might have heard me talk about my friend Jill Samter of Jill Samter Photography before.
She has one of the most generous hearts of any the local photographers I’ve met, and about two years ago I stumbled across her I Am Beautiful project. This project began when a Good to Wow “Selfie” prompt resulted in one of the lowest participation rates of any of her linky parties.
Why? Because photographers like to find the client’s inner beauty, but often cannot see their own.
As a result Jill started the “I Am Beautiful” project… to encourage women everywhere to find their “inner beautiful”
This weekend, my friend Marirosa (She is above and is another local photog that I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and shoot with) and I got to catch Jill in action for her I Am Beautiful project.
As Jill shot Marirosa and her son and daughter, we chatted about the importance of building self-esteem into young women. Jill shared her dreams and passion for helping young women see their worth and beauty and she talked about how she desired to partner with organizations to use her photography.
Both Marirosa and I talked about ways we could help Jill accomplish her dreams… about joining with other photographers who care not just about how deep a client’s pocketbook might be, but about the depth of their soul and the ache that they have that hides the beautiful.
If you are a photographer who wants to get involved in helping Jill spread the beautiful… If you are a mom who wants to build healthy self-esteem into your daughters… If you are someone who mentors young women and you want to build up the next generation of women in creative and memorable ways… please contact Jill by clicking on the badge below
