A dear friend of mine referred me to the McArtor Family.
I knew from the first moment I talked to Kristen, I would like her. She told me all about her family, about how adventurous her two sons were and I could just hear her desire to capture these special moments with her family. She was so excited and had so many ideas, so it made my job fun!
Jason and Kristen selected a gorgeous location in Gainesville, VA that had a pond, gazebo, a huge oak tree, and landscaping that was to die for.
But what really made this shoot special for me was the way the family interacted… the boys were all boy and it was a blast. We’d take a few shots and then I would say to E*, “Ok, go run around for a minute!” to get all the boy wiggles out. He was so cooperative and the minute he saw me get ready to take a shot he stood stock still with a big smile. For an hour! The littlest munchkin K* was absolutely delighted when he saw the big camera come out with Petunia Puddleduck on the front, or we broke out Big Bird the hand puppet.
Jason and Kristen have been together for many years… and their love was so beautiful for me to capture.
They were so naturally kind and loving to one another that I did very little “act like you like each other” coaching, because you could see from the sparkle in their eyes when they looked at each other… there was a deep love between them.
So grateful that I had the privilege to capture this beautiful family this weekend. The McArtor’s reminded me why I love photography so much!
