Scavenger Hunt Sunday | The Red Umbrella Makes an Appearance!

Wrapped

This was on the wall at Great Country Farms the last time I was there. It was cool because it looks like the butterflies are being wrapped about by the vines. How often, do butterflies get “wrapped about” by vines that keep them from flying?

Time Together

It was so much fun peeking in on Ken and Deborah and lil man enjoying their time together last weekend. This is the second time I’ve had the privilege of doing family pictures with them – the first being the newborn shoot that we did with Lil man. Their love story is so authentic, their journey is such a blessing to see, and they truly are such an example to me of the fact that God unites two people because they are stronger together than they would be apart. I love this… and am inspired by their story, how they are growing into it. (More coming Wednesday!)

Tell Me a Story

There is a story behind these windows. Just like there is a story behind everyone’s heart. Sometimes I wonder how often I pause at the window of other’s hearts to find out their story…

Love or Couple

I have the incredible privilege of assisting my friend Marirosa of Photography by Marirosa on weddings. She brings SO much joy into my days and we have a blast shooting weddings together. This last week it was raining, and I of course brought my signature red umbrella and followed Marirosa around all day. Well, I was SO excited when my umbrella made it into Mar’s bride and groom pictures!!! Squeee!!! So I share this picture w/her permission {and to share how AWESOME of a wedding photographer she is} – and I made her put her logo on it too for 🙂 {It’s branding dontchaknow} Click on the picture to go to the rest of the pictures Marirosa, Mari and I took at this weekend’s wedding! You’ll see some of my first shots with my new mark III *swoon*

Duplicated

This is the cow truck at Great Country farms. Usually it has a few more kids in it, but this time it was just sitting… waiting for the fun to begin. All those cows lined up in a row waiting for giggling children to occupy them!

I break things and trip a lot. I like to chase things like dreams, goals, ideas, and raindrops. I create things with words. Writing has been an outlet since I first discovered the magic empty space of a journal. Words dance around in my brain and often land amidst scraps of paper, find their way into journals, or etch themselves into blinking pixels. I hope my words fall like rain on tender souls in need of refreshing. Finding photos in random moments helps me share stories. During a trip to Africa the perfect trifecta of my first DSLR, mission trip, and dream-location happened and my love of photography became a reality. I'm currently writing my first book, "Will They Laugh if I Call You Daddy: Growing up with 2 Dads in an Evangelical World," I'm a board member for One Million Kids, and I believe that every kid of an LGBT parent should have an opportunity to #ChangeTheConversation with their story. My bio remains in process because I am.
